First of all, thanks for the great tool to play Shadow Warrior again, I just found out about it and I'm so glad to relive the good old days on my "new" computer with improved graphics. Anyway, I just wanted to report a bug that I have noticed while playing Shadow Warrior with Shadow Warrior Port version 4.3.0 (I searched the forums, and couldn't find a post about this that was posted before). The problem is in the Shadow Warrior Port because when I for example try to replicate it in Dosbox it doesn't trigger. The bug is with the Katana weapon and slicing up the "brown" Ninjas, it just doesn't happen like it should happen, they are not sliced in half, but rather die like they would from killing them with the Shurikens.
1. How to reproduce this bug: Start up Shadow Warrior in the SWP and start a new game, Enter the Wang, first level, two "brown" Ninjas jump through the window into the Dojo, you have your Katana sword, so slice them up..... 2. What do I expect to happen: I would expect my Katana sword to slice them in half, as seen here for example in the beginning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30WXr8353X8&annotation_id=annotation_207434&feature=iv 3. What actually happens: You will see them dying like they would from being killed with Shurikens, or sometimes commit Seppeku with a blast through their own head, which is also fun to watch of course :D.
Some additional information, I am playing this on my laptop, with Windows XP SP3, with the High Resolution Pack version 2.1 (I have disabled the highres 3D models, only using the textures). I also completely disabled the High Resolution Pack in SWP and tried again but the same problem persists. I must admit that I haven't tried it with a fresh install and only vanilla Shadow Warrior installed in SWP, but even if that works, then it's still a bug but in the High Resolution Pack.
Anyway, keep up the good and great work (you guys are geniuses), I'll now continue playing and try to finish this great game for the first time ;)

Re: BUG: SWP version 4.3.0 -> slicing up "brown" Ninjas
This is not a bug but is done by design. With the HRP (High Resolution Graphics) the author who made the new Ninja models forgot to add the dying sequence when sliced in half. You can switch the 'modification' off in the Game Menu. 'Options' - 'Game Options' - 'More' Switch off: 'Ninja Sliced Hack'
Also depending on what graphics card you use you may not be able to drive the yellow car (Silver Key) later. In this case driving the Red Controls will activate the yellow car also.
Oh btw, if the Hrp is slowing things down a bit on your laptop, you can try the LRP (Low Resolution Pack) http://www.proasm.com/files/sw/Sw_Lrp_v12.zip (dont forget to remove the Hrp)
The only files you need in the Swp or Sw folder is:
Folders needed are: Games - all .grp addons etc Maps Mapswb - wang bang maps Music - .mid or .wav
Enjoy ;)

Thanks for your fast reply ProAsm, I guess next time I should look better in the options menu. Anway, the High Resolution Pack plays perfect on my laptop, no slow downs or anything (yet) and it flippin' looks great! I bookmarked your page and this forum because I am really curious about the further development of this project.
Thanks again for the help!

@ProAsm, instead of having HRP and LRP, why don't you add an option for hires texture quality. EDuke32 has such feature. Can you port this feature (a texture quality slider) from EDuke32 to Swp and Duke3dw?
In EDuke32 this slider is in: go to Video Setup, then to Renderer Setup, then adjust the Hires Texture Quality slider.

The problem comes in loading the texture. In the Hrp the average texture is massive, like 1280 x 800 and bigger and that's where the slowness of operation comes in. Regardless of what the setting is, the texture still needs to be loaded. All the Lrp does is reduce the pics down by 50% to 25% of size for slower PC's etc which drastically reduces loading time. It also drastically reduces the size of the download. In many developing countries like ours, the overall size of the Hrp is becoming a no-go download option as we have capped limitations on internet downloads. With Sw this is still not a serious problem but one day it will get there :) My present site I can no longer see the download numbers but before I moved in December, I already had nearly 1700 downloads of the Duke3d LRP, so somebody out there needs it :) I think the online multiplayers use it mainly. People's requirements are amazing, I have many requests where they want better quality textures, props, weapons etc, but want 8 bit monsters, and that is something I may implement soon.
