Hi everybody, first i would like to thanks JonoF for this iniciative, Duke is the best action game ever and it's a nice work so far. I am a keyboard player, don't like mouse or joysticks but i having problem with this port, since i can't strafe left or right while pressing the fire key and turning to the other side, that's the way i used back in 95 when playing with other guys, for example when you are with the machine gun and you move in circles. But in this version when you strafe, turn to the other side and shoot at the same time it stops moving, you can't play well using the kb. I would aprecciate any information about this subject.
Another question: is it possible to run the original duke3d in high resolution modes with modern video cards and inside windows (since the modes in duke were made for old isa and vesa)? Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the keyboard problems since I converted to mouse gaming (after holding out for some time I might add). As for the VESA problems, Ken posted a hack on his website that forces Duke 3D to use the older VESA modes, which are more compatible with Windows. http://advsys.net/ken/nolfb.zip It may not get all modes to work, but at least a few.

playing with keyboard.. ough, oldskool  .
About the VESA-Modes, if you have a videocard with more than 64Mb Vidmemory (that would be 128mb, unless you have a 96mb videocard :) it wont run. Even the nolfb programs has no effect, I think there is a problem in the video-ram allocation with 128mb vidcards and vesa

Re: Problem with keyboard playing
I am interested too, because I have the same problem...
everyone have this problem ?
what could be the cause of the problem ?
can we "resolve" it using another motherboard or keyboard ?
