I have been searching and reading all day until my eyes are now red! I love the old Duke 3D and I just set it up over my network, then I found www.planetduke.com and from that point on I've been trying to upgrade the old version with the new port. Problem is, I don't know S***. So I was wondering if you good folks could point me in the right direction. I have been through the jonof.edgenetwork.org site multiple times searching for clues. I don't want to build anything, I just want to play it. I have no experience compiling games, and it wouldn't hurt to read a little more... where did you guys get your start?? any help sure would be appreciated. thanks

Just copy the duke3d.grp (v1.3 - v1.5) file from an older Duke3d installation in a seperate folder (ex. "c:\duke3d_jf"). Then extract the downloaded Duke3d binaries (not the source) into this directory. Start setup.exe to setup graphics/sound and other, then you should be able to run the game with duke3d.exe.
Hope I could help ya

:P Thanks Alien. That was too easy! And I was thinking I had to be a programmer guru to play with source codes. Much appricitive.
