A warning: Many of these programs are not designed for people unfamiliar with working in a command prompt. Some are not very user-friendly as they're mostly things I've written for just myself where if I forget how to use them I just read the source again and recall how they work. I'm them putting here in case some people find them interesting. I may polish them more in the future.
- A program for extracting the files from the Sunstorm mod packages for Duke Nukem 3D.
- My own program for handling the shortcut keys on multimedia keyboards.
- My program for assembling icon files from image and mask components.
This was written to assist the owners of the Sunstorm Interactive modifications for Duke3D to extract the data files for the mod to play it with JFDuke3D. The files for these modifications are packaged in a special file named with a .SSI extension, but the program which normally installs and manages them is a DOS application written in Turbo Pascal, and doesn't run on modern computers.
This is a program I wrote to control the multimedia function keys on my keyboards. Unsatisfied with having to use ugly stinking manufacturer-supplied software for the job, I set about writing my own version.
I have no idea if this program will work for other users with different brands of keyboard, or different versions of Windows, but I'm releasing it for folks to try. If you test it and find that it works, I wouldn't mind knowing the brand and model number of the keyboard for my own records.
This program was written out of stubbornness. I didn't want to download and install an icon creation program a while back in order to make an icon for JFDuke3D, so I wrote my own. It's not the simplest of programs to use and it requires a little bit of effort to construct the icon images, but it serves its purpose well. I have found @icon sushi to be a much better replacement though.
