I remember there was a file that could modify the text that pops up after you exit duke3d (dos). Interestingly enough is it could do the same thing for doom.

I assume by file you meant utility... if so, I think the utility was called EnDOOMer.

The data for the DOS end-screen text is stored in DUKE3D.GRP as DUKE3D.BIN. I know that XWE can read it, but I'm not sure if it can edit it.

Of course you can edit it, with any ANSI art tool. (My favorite being PAINT.COM which was lodged in a very old PC Magazine)
