Indie JFBuild Games?
- Well seeing that BUILD Was released over 6 years now, and JFBuild has been out for a good time too, has anybody ever created a game (not like a crappy mod or map for SW\DN3D) but like with different sounds and things? Zombie Crisis looks good, i thought it was a dn3d mod but seeing as JFDuke is on PSP now i have myself convenced!
-good thing JFBUILD Is so portable! Homebrew would suck so bad. I Play DN3D HRP on Windows and JFDuke on PSP (even though Duke sounds like a muscular version of mickey mouse, (nothing bad\ just saying))- Re: Indie JFBuild Games?
duke isn't an indie game
zombie crisis, rofl
Build isn't as portable as you think. Do you know where the Mac ports are?- He never said duke was an indie game, he was only talking about maps/mods for duke.
And about zombie crisis, I only saw the teaser and a few screenshots, but I thought it was looking rather good :)
And why is JFBuild not as portable as he thinks ? From the official JF site :Operating System
I can think up a few systems that could run JFBuild (like the NDS) with a few changes.
Windows 95†/98/Me/2000/XP
Linux with kernel 2.2 or newer
BSD (eg. Free/Open/Net)
Mac OS X 10.2 or newer
Solaris 9 and 10, BeOS 5, QNX 6.2.1, and SkyOS 5 are casually supported
I know that the macOS port of SW is taking alot of time, but as far as I know that's rather due personal life things instead
of JFbuild not being portable enough. - isn't there an endian bug with the slopes on mac
- No, because on PPCs or SPARCs the C implementation of the rendering code is used which isn't influenced by endianness.
Jonathon - just wondering...
i might try making some games in build. It's looking cooler since DN3D... *baby's first FPS haha* (seriously i was like 3 when we bought it, my brother played more, i played sometimes w/o Adult Mode back then when Pentium Pro's were like the Core 2 Quads of the mid 90's :) , we only had SNES untill PS2 came --) - I know people are using eDuke32 to create new games. Note that eDuke32 is a Build based game engine, not an actual game, since it allows to create games very different than the original Duke Nukem 3D and NAM-Napalm/WWII-GI ones (eDuke32 is based on eDuke wich is based on WWII-GI wich is based on Duke Nukem 3D).
Right now I'm planning my own Build based game.
