Okay, maybe not even JonoF knows these bugs exist, but I found them because I'm a VR enthusiast and I'd just love to play Duke3D in stereoscopic 3D withoud bugs.
Note: I'm referring to the standard implementation of stereoscopy with the nVidia stereo3D drivers.
1) Nothing that is 2D is displayed in stereoscopy. No menus, no crosshair, no HUD bar, no mighty foot, no guns (except for the pipebomb and the devastator, which already have 3D models). Note that sprites that are PART OF A LEVEL are correctly displayed, the problems are with whatever refers to the 2D coordinates of the screen.
2) Everything seems too small and drawn too close to the eyes of the player. I believe this could be solved by rendering everything at twice the size, making Duke twice as tall and making him (and the enemies) run at twice the speed.

It's probably likely the hackery Nvidia's stereoscopic drivers are doing to get non-supportive games to work is coming foul of Polymost's method of operation. Eventually I want to get proper OpenGL stereoscopic support going but since it's not such a widely used feature, it's hardly going to demand my attention in the near future unless I one day feel like working on something with that kind of novelty. I'd have to put my GeForce2GTS back in to do the testing since it's got shutter-glasses support, and I'm not sure my 6800GT would feel very happy with that. :-P

AFAIK, you can use shutterglasses with every nVidia 3D card, with the appropriate dongle (and eDimensional glasses are sold with their dongle).Modern HMDs like the Icuiti V920 and the Emagin Z800 can be connected natively.
