I hope this has never been asked before... I'm trying to run the JFSW port under Win2K and it seems that, for some reason, the program can't communicate with my keyboard. The game loads, in any resolution, and sound seems to work, but I can't move the cursor in the menu. I tried the mouse and the joystick too. The game is not frozen, it's just waiting for an input but no matter what key I press it doesn't do anything. Even ALT+F4 won't work! I have to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to close the program (if it's in Fullscreen mode).
Does anyone else get this problem? Is it because of Win2K? I may also mention that I get a weird error when JFSW loads once it gets to detecting my Gravis GamePad Pro... it says "Failed Setting Buffering: DI_POLLEDDEVICE"... I don't know if that's the cause of the problem.
What should I do? Can't wait to play my good ol' favorite FPS!

I can't say I know JFSW very well, but I run 2k myself, have no joypads 'n stuff at all, and JFSW works fine. So yeah, the Gravis must be it.

I unplugged the joystick and removed it from the Windows Control Panel, and now everything works. Thanks for the advice!

JFSW problem with Win2K; cannot even start game!
My pleasure. Just to let you know, though, that the answer was already hidden in your post:

Someone really needs to spend bout an hour and make a basic FAQ or something to give to Jono to give to him to put in the next realeases of JFDUKE and JFSW. That should help most people out because this joystick q. pops up a fear bit now.

And it won't pop up in the next release unless something else is wrong. The game handles errors better now.
