How is this possible and what do I have to set to gain "real" Mouselook in Duke? The port is really great except that I don't know hjow to set this.

Neither By pressing "u" during the game, or setting on the value
mouse aiming from the ingame options menu.

Unfortunately this doesn't work. I've set "Mouse aiming" in the config to "toggle" and I switched it on in the options menu. But there is simply no Mouse aiming. I set the "X-Axis" to "analog_turning" in the config but the y-axis to nothing because none of the 3 options is right (ahould be "analog_aiming") So what is wrong with my settings? Thanks in advance for your help!

No, the Y axis should be "analog_moving".

Now Duke runs like I want it to be :)))

it is analog_moving, because moving the function of the axis with mouselook turned off. tbh, the concept of a mouselook toggle button is pretty outdated anyway. who ever moves forward and backward with the mouse?
funny though. just got san andreas yesterday and its like a flash from the past. it has the old SW-like toggle between joystick and mouse again... *sigh*
(actually, joystick still somewhat works with mouse input on, but the 2nd analog stick doesnt work then)

Including myself, I know quite a few people who use the mouse to go forward and backward on first person games. To me, having all movement (foward, backward, looking around and strafing) on the mouse is like second nature to me. Why have your movement split between the mouse and keyboard? That doesn't seem logical. Anyway, to each his own...

'we' dont have movement split, 'we' have all movement on keyboard and look around with the mouse. it just feels like a more logical function for the mouse to look around than moving the player.
but indeed, to each his own. i get people on every lan party i'm at, asking me why i play with the mouse on the left side of the keyboard while i'm right-handed :)
and i personally dont understand wsad players, cause the w key is located in a weird position (gaming-wise) and that space bar is in the way. numpad is so much easier :)

I only use mouse movement when I play DOOM. Other than that, WSAD + mouselook is my control method. You can use a Halo-style configuration, space bar jumps, E is the action button and Ctrl crouches, and keep your control area on the left region of the keyboard.
