A phone is a godamn phone, ring ring, that's what phones were created for, calls not build games.

A computer isn't created for games either. yet you play games on them. so why not give
mobilephones a change ? games don't cost that much, and you probably have some minutes of
free/wasted time (like in a bus or train) were you can play them!

The problems I have with mobile phone games are
the lack comfortable and usable controls, and
the general experience of playing on a tiny display.
Neither are things I particularly enjoy personally. I can't imagine playing a 3D shooter or anything requiring fine control on a mobile phone like my T610 and having a fun time. A PDA, like my Tungsten T though, different story. It has a much bigger display which doesn't give you a headache, and a control layout more suited to arcade gameplay. Tetris on a mobile, fine. Your typical Build action game, I beg to differ. I would however like to try id's Doom RPG, which with its turn-based gameplay removes the problem of reacting and maneuvering with horrible mobile phone input devices. I personally like my phones to be used for communications purposes. Listening to music is about as far as I'd go with phone extras, but unless the phone is designed with gaming in mind, it's not going to be a pleasurable gameplay experience. Plus, game-oriented phones end up being more of a game console and less useful as a phone. I hope one day a manufacturer can make a device that is balanced and doesn't make you look like a git using it.

Computers are created with multiple purposes in mind and gaming ain't the exception; no console and absolutely no phone comes closer to it's power and versatility. The myth of them being "big desktop calculators" probably vanished in middle 80's as the A100 broke into the scene. By the way, ever been to downtown http://www.alienware.com/ ?, those are mainly designed for gaming, just for the record.

Because they aren't worth it, stick to the old PET''s "snake" and enjoy yourself.

Depends on the game. If someone ever manages to make a build-based FPS fit into a 2005 mobile's hardware, hell, it ain't gonna be 5cent.

I don't like playing or reading while moving, it gives me a headache, guess that's just me.

It bludgeons the mind to see how negative you are towards this.
Personally I quite like the idea, i've always loved things like this, it's almost like hardware modding; Getting things to run on/in things they weren't generally designed to in the first place. It's fascinating, i'd love to see what a phone is capable of when it comes to rendering a build game.
How would I want it to play? On rails would certainly make things easier, but i'd have to say go wtih the original, a freely transversbale environment..albeit limited. Hey..if anything, consider it yet another e-penis stroker...
