How to re-pack Stuff.DAT , with high res textures??
- The utilities for re-packing the GRP files, expects an 8bit, texture and a special Palette. (It doesn't seem to stop it loading when it is larger in size though.)
What I want to know is.
What are the restriction on texture sizes, color depth.
And what utility do we now use to repack this stuff.dat (stuff.grp) file since the others are outdated in wanting a palette file, and 8bit restriction?
Thanks! - STUFF.DAT is the group file. What you're talking about is the ART file contents. The high-resolution replacement ART doesn't go in the ART file, instead the pictures are stored in seperate standard image files, which you're able to include in the STUFF.DAT if you repackage it with KGROUP. 8-bit versions of the high-res pictures still need to exist in the ART file for backwards compatibility and so that the engine knows the reference sizes of the new art for hit detection and whatnot.
