Blood OK on Windows XP ! ! !
- YES !
It work !
H - For information, this soft work with the 3DFX patch, then, the game look like JFDuke or JFShadow Warior, but is not verry stable.
With Glidos you can run the original Blood verssion without graphic acceleration, it's more stable, but probably due to the DOS emulation, the game run verry slow :? - Er...yeah...or you could read this page: http://deathmask.net/buildxp

Blood OK on Windows XP ! ! !
Not quite. Like every dos game, you can't even run it on XP64. DOSbox is still advised. (it runs nice nowadays)- I have XP32 Pro and i think i will never play the great game
- 1. Install Sound FX 2000 (faster and more stable than VDMSound)
2. Modify the game's sound setup to match that of Sound FX 2000 (available from Control Panel) or vice versa.
3. Apply cli2nop to the game's executable (so the game doesn't freeze)
4. Run nolfb before launching the game (to get 640x480 resolution to work)
5. Optionally, if you want higher resolutions, install videoptr (ask me for it if you can't find it).
No more tears 8) Re: Blood OK on Windows XP ! ! !
Hi :)
@Maren: I just got BLOOD working on XP (I bought the original disc back in 1997 and loved it). What's the videoptr prog you mentioned in your last post? and could you send me a link; Google turns up nothing about it except this thread.
Cheers.- Videoptr was a patch that would allow DOS games to use resolutions higher than 640x480 in XP (and probably other 2k-based operative systems as well). NOLFB still had to be run though.
Ever since I started dual-booting with ME, I've lost interest in these workarounds and I no longer remember what CD I burned that utility into. IIRC I found the link to the videoptr somewhere at www.advsys.net/ken but I'd rather not asseverate as it's been a while and my memory blows like the wind. - I think your problem is the utility is actually called "VGAFIX", not videoptr. It fixes certain older Nvidia cards that would go into sleep mode when attempting a DOS Vesa resolution higher than 640x480. Try googling "vgafix". It's not on my site. There should be a download link at the VOGONS forums.
- The patch I'm referring to was indeed named videoptr, the zip contained at least 2 files and I'm pretty certain I didn't get it from VOGONS. Vgafix is likely the same kind of fix but from a different author.
- Jackpot ;D

Here's a download link: http://www.volny.cz/martin.sulak/videoprt.zip"
I know, it's videopRt, but I was pretty close.
