Once I finally learn to program (to much work in school at the moment) I will try to modify your checkers program to face off the local chess program known as chinook (it beat the checkers champ of the world :) ) and see if kens can compete :) (they estimated that it could defeat 99% of the worlds pop I think)

AI goal
did you play against it? (I don't know if intermediate is the hardest it can do :\ but thats the hardest they seem to offer) or are you a checkers world champ :)
I feel bored so I'm letting his AI wreak havoc on the beginner level people :) (some of these sure as hell arn't beginners)
And don't think I don't like kens AI, infact I am in aw (no sarcasm) of the level of this AI compared to it's developement time :) I say ken did an awsome job!

Cool - somebody actually noticed kwincheat.zip! I put my original stand-alone checkers game on my website so now you can see how nasty my AI is for yourself: http://advsys.net/ken/utils.htm

Surprisingly, the Checkers AI isn't that bad.
From the description that was given, I thought it would be bad.
Which was a poor assumption, I guess.
Still, it was pretty good.
(Although, I'm a Chess player, not Checkers, so I'm not that great a judge...)

Nope, I'm being stupidly overconfident and facetious. It'd probably beat me to within an inch of my life :-)

I don't realy play checkers but after the first few moves on intermediate I knew I was beat :) but chinook does something kens dosn't, I believe they use a giant database of moves (all possible positions on the board) to calculate what to do next, one thing that would be awsome if ken could over come (good luck if you decide to ken) is the fact that most computer moves are spur of the moment, long term strategy has always been the week point of both chess and checkers AI

In terms of Chess, Fritz is the best AI I've played against - but Chessmaster is also pretty good. These two are excellent long-term strategists.

in a remach between the most recent AI (I belive that would be fritz) the chess champ used a long term strat to win the game :)

Isn't all chess long term strategy? That's how I've always played it.
