Hi Guys! I’m new here, but I have sent some e-mail to Ken a while ago! I have a technical question! I tried everything to start Games Like Redneck Rampage & Blood in XP. First I used DOSBox All works perfect, graphics and sounds are there! BUT sometimes Games go VERY slow for some moment and back to normal again and it bugs me a lot. I have good system:
NoteBook: AMD Turion 64 – 1.8 GHz RAM : 1 gig Video : Mobility Radion X700 – 128 MB. Enough to run Doom 3, Quake 4 and Counter-Strike source on high res with All visual stuff turned on. So I think it is a DOSBox issue.
Then I downloaded NOLFB.com by KEN, and I go Run cmd nolfb blood.exe And it works well too! Sound and graphics are there! No slowdowns! BUT ! Question for KEN as a creator of NOLFB! I run all DOS games using your NOLF And graphics and sound is working PERFECT! But mouse has a BUG! Mouse pointer Refuses to go Left! It works in all directions but Left is not wotking! Up, down, right woks perfect! But all games have the same issue, mouse is not moving left! And if I try to play Blood or Redneck, using mouse, I just cant turn left! I have USB mouse, I tried to Re-Install Drivers for it and install it as PS/2 Compatible mouse. Still has the same BUG
So, Ken, maybe you have any solution on that issue?

I have never observed such behavior with the mouse. NOLFB should not affect the mouse in any way.

blood should be runnable without NOLFB (at least without sound). You might want to check if the mouse works correctly then. If that's not the case, the problem then probably lies somewhere else then NOLFB (although I can hardly believe this bug could be caused by NOLFB in the first place).
I did a quick test, and played blood with and without NOLFB. Both times my mouse works correctly.

That’s so strange! I’m running Win XP Home SP2 with all latest paches! And even DosBox works fine with mouse! And all other stuff fowrks fine With mouse! Only NOLFB has that bug! Any ideas why? I have 7 Port USB hub connected to my Lap Top, and all stuff like Mice, keyboard, Webcam… are connected to it, I tried to connect mice directly To my Lap Top Port, but still the same Bug!
It turns left sometimes, but in most of the cases it does not! If it is not NOLFB problem, why mice works fine everywhere else? Even in DOSBox (which is running games slow for me :(:( )

did you try to run the game (blood for example) without NOLFB to see if the mouse works correctly then ?

No, games like Blood and Redneck Ranpage do not run on my XP Home SP2, just when i start Blood.exe, it quits! i Play Duke3D for Win and Shadow Warrior, works fine, but as i said, i tryed everything and as i see, mouse has a problem only when i use NOLFB! as i said even DOSBox works fine! but NOLFB has everything perfect, but mouse does not turn left :( that's o bad, because only this problem stops me from playing those old good games :(
