Ken: The Euphoria Programming Lang
- Hello, and good day --
Have you ever heard about or programmed with Euphoria (www.rapideuphoria.com)? It is very flexible and fast for writing interpreted WIN32 apps.
P.S --
sorry for bothering you in the previous posts.
:) - Hmmmmm I doubt he has used it.....Ken is very speed-oriented I think :) - and for testing purposes he uses QBasic and EvalDraw.
I've heard of it but I tend to avoid interpreted languages(btw QBasic 4.5 can produce compiled exes - so i discount that as interpreted:D ) as they do tend to be very slow and encourage lazy programming. But then that's just me :).
Let's hear Ken :) - Euphoria is hands down my favorite programming langauge. It's worth looking into since it's easy to read and write (it's syntax is PASCAL/BASIC-ish), very high-level (its datatypes reminded me of LISP), and the official interpreter is the fastest interpreter I've ever seen and has some nice debugging features.
Have you ever heard about or programmed with Euphoria ...
No and no. I just don't have any interest in learning new languages. I'd rather spend my time on things that don't come and go with the times - such as math and algorithms.- I agree with Ken :)
- If I could program in C, I'd agree with Ken. And I think Visual Basic is easy enough, and has a good enough debugger for me to program in quite easily.
I don't know how its speed compares to Euphoria's though, and with the kind of programming I like to do, speed is good.
Who knows, I may give it a try some day. - Then you probably are interested with my voxlap dll or hazard's version - my version is being designed for vb6 / hazard's for vb.net
